Mike Borgic grew up on a farrow-to-wean sow farm in a place he likes to call "the middle of nowhere and everywhere" with the farm being 10 miles from six different towns.  Throughout Mike's life, he was always involved in agricultural activities.  As a little kid, Mike would get up early in the morning to watch his dad load market hogs.  It wasn't long before he was able to help out and thus started his passion for the pork industry and agriculture.  While growing up around agriculture, Mike was involved in the standard organizations of 4-H and FFA.

After graduating from high school in 2001, Mike attended Western Illinois University majoring in agricultural business.  During his time at WIU, Mike became a member of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity and during one summer was the intern for the Illinois Pork Producers Association.  Mike graduated in 2005 with his degree in Agricultural Business and started to work as manager of the Lee County Farm Bureau.

In December of 2007, Mike moved to Springfield to start working for the Illinois Pork Producers Association as the Director of Membership and Outreach.  His position is based around membership development for the association.  Mike can also be found working at the grill for promotions and spends a lot of time at the Pork Patio during the IL State Fair.

Mike’s hobbies include competition barbeque contests and spending time with family and friends.
