Lana Shovlin
Director of Communications
Prior to moving to working at the IPPA, Shovlin worked as a publicist for Southern Illinois University Press (2014-2017), where she used her strong networking skills to organize press events, schedule book signings, and craft press releases for authors. She worked closely with local and national media to generate buzz around new book releases and spent much of her time being the biggest cheerleader for her clients.
Shovlin has freelanced for the Illinois Times and the Springfield Business Journal and worked at the Program Coordinator for Downtown Springfield Inc. where spearheaded many fundable events and programs that help support the Main Street principals that help raise funds for DSi’s sustainability.
Shovlin lives in Springfield with her husband and three children, all of whom love pork.
