Kristi Smith

Kristi Smith is from Princeville, Illinois, where she lives on a fourth generation show pig operation. All of her family is involved in raising the pigs.

 

Kristi attended Black Hawk College East Campus before transferring to Iowa State University; she was on the judging team at both institutions. She studied Animal Science with a focus on swine and beef cattle. After graduation, she worked for Niman Ranch for 2 years as a Field agent. Following her time at Niman Ranch, she started working for Team Purebred as the Director of Junior Events.

 

Currently, Kristi works for the University of Illinois Extension as the Peoria County 4-H Extension Program Coordinator. She organizes all 4-H events in her county, including the fair, workshops that have to do with Livestock, as well as their Federation. She also coaches her county’s livestock judging Team and really enjoys working with 4-H kids. 

 

In her spare time, Kristi enjoys quilting, growing flowers, and baking pies. She also really enjoys spending time with her family raising, showing and promoting pork!
