Bruce Brinkman

At-Large

Bruce Brinkman lives in Valmeyer, Illinois, and has been married to his wife, Rita, for 30 years. They have 3 grown children: Dustin, Bethany, and Ryan. They have lived on their family farm for 31 years. Bruce originally grew up on a family farm near Payson, Illinois, being one of 15 children. He attended John Wood Community College shortly after graduating from high school and received a Swine Management certificate in 1986. Bruce moved to Monroe County later that same year for an employment opportunity in a hog operation.

Soon after, he partnered with the employer by purchasing another swine unit and eventually bought his partners share to become the sole owner. His hog facility started as a farrow to finish unit and over the years he has transitioned to a contract grower for local producers. Through the years, Bruce has been active in various county committees and boards to better serve the community where he lives. He enjoys collaborating with others on a variety of topics that help promote farming, the swine industry, and local government.
