Don Meyer

IFB Liaison

Don Meyer of Amboy in Lee County was elected to the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) board of directors in 2020 to represent District 4, which includes Bureau, LaSalle and Lee counties.  He serves on the Illinois Government Committee, ACTIVATOR Executive Committee, and Governance Committee.  Meyer is a past president and secretary of the Lee County Farm Bureau, as well as a former Lee County Farm Service Agency County Committee member.  He is a member of the Illinois Corn Growers Association.

 

Meyer grows corn, soybeans, and seed corn in Lee County. Meyer graduated the Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow program in 2012 and participated in Leaders to Washington in 2017.

 

Meyer received his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science from Western Illinois University.  He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps, then went on to earn an MBA from Northern Illinois University.  Before returning to farming full-time, he was an investment representative licensed to sell stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and life insurance products.
