Darren Sims

Darren is a former member of the IPPA board and has been involved with the Western Illinois Pork Producers since 2005.
He is part owner of a 5,000-sow breed-wean operation on his 5th generation family farm that producers approximately 130,000 pigs per year. He is also a partner in a 1,700-acre corn & soybean operation.
He and his wife, Andrea, have been married since 2005 and have 2 children, Jackson and Evan who love playing basketball & baseball.
In addition to his involvement in IPPA and the Western Illinois Pork Producers, Darren is also a member of the Prairieland FS board and of the St. Anthony of Padua church and is a 2016 graduate of the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program.
Being around livestock his entire life has greatly influenced his work ethic. He stresses that there are many opportunities surrounding the livestock industry and to explore those.
