Aaron Beretan

Aaron Bertan is a first-generation farmer from Paxton, Illinois. He runs an independent producer wean-finishing raising about 20,000 pigs annually along with raising corn and soybeans. Aaron has been married to his wife Ashlee for 15 years. They have three children, Jack (13), Brynlee (11), and Eli (3). They enjoy camping, fishing, and lots of grilling out with friends in the summer. Spring and fall are busy times around the farm, so they make the most of it with tractor and combine rides. Aaron likes to spend his free time in the winter snow skiing in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Aaron graduated from PBL High School in 2002 and Lake Land College in 2006 with a degree in John Deere mechanics. In 2010, Aaron was given the opportunity to work for Melvin Coulter, and in 2012 became a partner in Pioneer Pork LLC.  “It has been a great career and I cannot imagine doing anything else, Aaron stated. I truly enjoy every day I get to care for livestock and for the land we farm.” Aaron did not grow up farming which he believes gives him a unique view of the industry. He understands how the swine industry looks from the outside and from the inside. Aaron is excited for the opportunity to work with likeminded people in the swine industry.
