Andrew Erickson

At-Large

Andrew Erickson is a 3rd generation farmer in northeast Knox County. Andrew works with his dad and uncle raising corn and soybeans and he manages their wean-to-finish barn of around 16,500 head annually on contract for the Maschhoffs. Andrew's dad and uncle owned and operated a farrow-to-finish operation before building their wean-to-finish barn in 2007 and partnering with the Maschhoffs. This expansion allowed Andrew to come back to the family farm. Andrew is a member of the church council at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altona. Andrew and his wife Jenni have one son, Silas.

Andrew graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University in 2016 majoring in Agribusiness. Upon graduation, he worked for the Maschhoffs as a production manager before returning to the family farm in 2019.

How do you believe the landscape of the industry has changed over the last five years?

“The industry has seen plenty of consolidations and increased political pressure over the last five years. Examining efficiencies and inefficiencies has continued to be at the forefront of every producer’s mind.”
