Bryan Ideus

Ideus

Bryan grew up in Rantoul, Illinois. While he did not grow up on a farm, he routinely participated in harvest as a child. After entering high school, Bryan gained employment on a diversified farm that included row crop, cow-calf and feedlot production. That work developed his interest in livestock production and animal health. Bryan added to that experience through employment at the University of Illinois beef and dairy farms while completing his undergraduate studies. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he pursued his veterinary degree at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. During his second year of veterinary school, Bryan was selected for the National Pork Industry Foundation (NPIF) internship program. This program provided swine focused internships for students with little to no experience in modern swine production. That internship was instrumental in developing his passion for the swine industry while learning in the US and Danish industries. Bryan is currently an Associate Veterinarian with Carthage Veterinary Service, working in the eastern cornbelt region. He continues to thoroughly enjoy his work in the industry.
