Alex Dumoulin

Dumoulin

Alex grew up and continues to live on her family’s owned and operated hog farm in Hampshire, Illinois. The farm was established by her grandparents, Bill and Pat, in 1954 and is now a third-generation family farm. Even from a young age, Alex has been passionate about her family’s farm, assisting with all facets of the farm including caring for pigs, grinding and delivering feed, and being involved during planting and harvest seasons. Alex is the second oldest of ten kids and the third oldest of numerous grandchildren, all of whom continue to be involved in the farm operations.

Alex graduated with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Northern Illinois University. She currently works as an Engineering Manager for an aluminum extrusion company, where she oversees the development process of extrusion projects and manages the design department of the company.  Alex also serves as a committee member on Academic & Education Engagement Team for the Aluminum Extruders Council. She is heavily involved in the community efforts through her job which involves teaching kids from K-8 about S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and running the internship program.  In her spare time, Alex enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, playing sand volleyball, and picking up a conversation with whomever she may come across.  She is also very involved in her church and serves on several committees, including teaching religious education, lecturing, and singing in the church choir.
