Marketing Manager Position

The Illinois Pork Producers Association is looking for a full-time Marketing Manager who can execute a variety of marketing related programs designed to foster pork consumption and pork production, overall consumer image/education enhancement


  • College degree with experience in marketing/communications, graphic design experience desired
  • Evidence of effective communication skills, budget planning and the ability to relate with a variety of stakeholders, including, producers, agribusiness professionals, influencers, retail professionals, media, staff, and the public
  • Evidence of the ability to develop creative programs and services that meet the needs of producers and members
  • A working knowledge of agriculture and the agribusiness industry
  • Willingness to travel


Basic Responsibilities:

  • Leads efforts and programs designed to foster pork consumption and pork production, overall image/education             enhancement, including international and domestic marketing
  • Develops and designs promotional/consumer education materials, annual budgets, and grant proposals  
  • Coordinates and participates in consumer education activities and cooking demonstrations
  • Assists in updating the association website
  • Coordinates promotional/image enhancement activities
  • Oversees all marketing partnerships including Chicago and statewide based programs
  • Works cooperatively with our national organizations on the development and implementation of demand enhancement activities
  • Creates promotional/communications materials and designs of brochures and ads


Additional Responsibilities

  • Assists Executive Director in special areas of work where needed and designated
  • Assists in the operation of the Illinois State Fair Pork Patio
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of the Illinois Pork Expo
  • Works with the members of the Marketing Committee, and the Board of Directors to communicate our messages properly to our members and the public
  • Maintains good relations with the agriculture community and with the agricultural news media
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Director


Work Environment:

The position is located in Springfield, Illinois. In-state and some occasional out-of-state travel will be required.

Work Hours:
This is a full time, salaried position. Traditional work hours with flexibility will apply. There will also be some evening or weekend commitments with advance notification

Salary commensurate with experience. Vacation, holiday package, 401(k) plan, and benefits offered
