Jenny Jackson

Director of Communications

Jenny grew up on a family farm west of Springfield, near Jacksonville, IL. She spent her younger years in 4-H and FFA, and credits those organizations for her personal growth. Showing hogs and cattle for 11 years instilled leadership, responsibility, and dedication upon her.

She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 2011, then continued to Lincoln Land Community College where she earned an Associate’s Degree in graphic design. From there, she transferred to Western Illinois University and additionally earned a Bachelor’s in Agriculture Science. While there, she was honored with the Outstanding Senior in Agriculture Award on behalf of the agriculture department.

During her years at WIU, she was actively involved in many student organizations, such as: Hoof ‘n’ Horn, Ag Vocators, Ag Mechanics, and Collegiate FFA. As part of her summer internship as Youth Ambassador with the Illinois Farm Bureau, she founded the WIU Collegiate Farm Bureau. On her behalf, WIU was the first University in Illinois to host a public showing of the film, Farmland.

Jackson is very involved with Illinois Farm Bureau on various levels. She began right out of high school at the county level by participating in leadership roles within Cass-Morgan Young Leaders. She is currently serving as the District 10 Representative to the State Young Leader Committee. Her area includes seven surrounding counties. At the end of March, she will have completed the 2017 Agriculture Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT) program. The leadership and communication skills she has gained from ALOT are invaluable.
