Robert Klemm of Waynesville in DeWitt County was elected to the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) board of directors in 2017 to represent District 11, which includes Christian, DeWitt, Macon, Moultrie, Piatt, and Shelby counties. He serves on the Member Services and Public Relations Committee.
Klemm is a 4th generation farmer. He and his wife, Patty, live on their centennial farm and raise grain and livestock with their son, John and his wife Megan. They also have two other adult children, Olivia and Aaron.
Klemm served on the DeWitt County Farm Bureau Board from 1985-2017, was the DeWitt Co. Farm Bureau Treasurer, the Building Committee Chairman, and is a Charter member of the DeWitt Co. Farm Bureau Foundation. He also served on the Young Farmer Committee from 1975-1983.
Klemm is a member of Illinois Corn Growers Association, Illinois Soybean Association, and Logan County Soil Savers. He was the District Young Farmers Discussion Meet Winner and District III Young Farmer Winner in 1982 and is an FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer.
Klemm received a bachelor's degree in applied science and technology from Illinois State University in 1974.
He is a former member of the DeWitt Co. Regional Planning Commission and currently serves as a member of the National Association of Tax Practitioners. He is an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
