Bob Miller

IL Purebred Rep.

Bob has served three years as the Illinois Purebred Representative on the IPPA board. During that time, he has served on multiple committees including, Education/Youth, Marketing, and State Fair.

At his farm he has purebred and showpig swine, meat retail and a 1900 acre grain farm. The farm has been in the family for over 100 years making it a centennial farm where his son is the sixth generation. Robert and his wife, Carla, have two children, Kirk and Carrie, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

He is very involved in his community. Robert is a member of the Gibson City United Methodist Church, past president of the Melvin-Sibley school board, past GCMS school board, Farm Bureau, past Ludlow Coop board, past Afilm Coop board, current National Spotted Swine Board-CPS Executive board, and president of the Illinois Purebred Swine Council.

Being a part of IPPA has given Robert more insight into the pork industry. If he could give someone who is interested in expanding into livestock advice it would be to research thoroughly.
