Alan Kollmann, VP/Treasurer
Alan is serving his eleventh year on the IPPA board. He is the current Vice President/Treasurer. During that time, he has served on a variety of committees including State Fair, Production Tech/Research, and is the Committee Chair for Education and Youth.
He is a third generation farmer from Effingham County. On the farm, he has a contract barn with 1,000 head in a feeder-to-finish operation, 40 show pig sows, and a small grain farm of corn and soybeans.
Alan and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 19 years. They have four children, Jared (17), Eric (14), Justin (12), and Jenna (9). Alan stays active in his community by being a member of St. Clave Catholic Church where he serves as the Chairman of their Pastoral Council and is there PSR director. He is a member of the Altamont Unit 10 School Board and Altamont Sports Boosters. In his past time, he enjoys attending his children’s sporting events.
Being part of IPPA helps Alan stay in touch with state and national rules and laws that affect his day to day business. He would tell someone that is thinking of expanding into livestock that it is a great way to diversify your operation.
