Rachel Schulte and her husband Kyle live in Oakford, IL with their daughter Reagan. Rachel grew up on a farrow-to-finish and row crop family farm in Cass County, Illinois named Brauer Pork and Brooks Farms. Rachel met her husband, Kyle, while she was interning with the Maschhoffs in southern Illinois. During veterinary school, Rachel and Kyle had a daughter named Reagan.
Kyle now works as a production manager at Applewood Farms, which is a 14,000 sow operation located in the Brauer Pork buildings. Kyle is also passionate about raising Crossbred and purebred Yorkshire show pigs for youth across the country. Rachel and Kyle are grateful for the opportunity to move back home and raise Reagan on the family farm.
Rachel volunteers at the Pork Patio at the Illinois State Fair and the Illinois Pork Youth Day. She also participates in various other industry events such as the African Swine Fever tabletop exercise, Illinois Swine Day, and the Illinois Pork Exposition. She services farmers in Illinois and Indiana and has traveled to China to teach biosecurity. As an IPPA member she has served on of the Production Technology and Research Committee. She is now serving as an At-Large Director.
