Curt has been on the IPPA board for eight years, serving in all of the officer positions, and multiple committees including Production Tech/Research, Executive, and Industry Services. He is a fifth generation farmer in Tazewell County. His farm includes corn, soybeans, wheat and a 140 head farrow-to-finish and seedstock hogs.
Curt and his wife, Sue, have three children, Angie (John), Beth (Andy), and Michael, and five grandchildren. He is a member of the Metamora Mennonite Church, Illinois Corn Growers Association, Illinois Soybean Association, Illinois Farm Bureau, and the Washington Chamber of Commerce. Curt has also won the Pork All-American award.
Being a part of IPPA has helped make Curt aware of issues in the industry and educated him on production and legislative topics. If he could give advice to a farmer looking to expand into livestock it would be that it is a good way to diversify and add value to an operation.
